Château CORBIN MICHOTTE
Château Corbin Michotte was part of a large feudal estate that belonged to the Prince of Aquitaine. In 1959, Jean Noel Boidron purchased the buildings and the vineyard, and totally rebuilt the cellar the way it was in the past but with some improvements.
After a lot of work on the vines, the cellars were completely rebuilt in 2012 according to an original plan to perfectly respect the quality of the grapes. The Château Corbin Michotte is member of the Bordeaux Wine Academy, this Grand Cru Classé has remained a family property co-managed by Jean-Noël Boidron and his children Isabelle, Emmanuel and Hubert. Jean-Noël Boidron is also an internationally renowned oenologist and taster, member of the A.I.V and the A.V.F.
Château Corbin Michotte is located in the gravelly area of Saint-Emilion. Its 7hectare vineyard and its large wooded park are between Pomerol and Saint-Emilion, near Cheval Blanc and Figeac, on the Pomerol plateau.
This vineyard has never been treated with herbicides. A unique gray brown loamy sandy soil resting on a strongly ferruginous clayey sandy subsoil (iron filth), with some gravel on the surface. It is a quaternary alluvial aquifer of the Isle. The soil is one of the richest in certain trace elements.

Before harvesting, the vines are leafless to obtain maximum color and concentration. The harvest is carried out by hand at perfect maturity, then the grapes are sorted on a sorting table before being placed in vats. In case of rain, the harvest is stopped until the grapes are dry again to avoid dilution.
Thermo-regulated vinification with long maceration without inputs. Our unique terroir naturally contains the necessary yeasts as well as lactic bacteria.
Aging takes place in new barrels for 22 to 24 months. The aromas of the wood should never erase the fruitiness due to the terroir, but only enrich it; never standardized among technological wines…
The bottling is carried out entirely at the Château by us. Only batches reaching high expression are bottled. After bottling, the wine is aged in an underground cellar, more than 30 meters under the ground, cool and humid, dug into the limestone, it ensures very good aging in the bottle. We produce wines for laying down which improve over 30 years but which paradoxically can be enjoyed young thanks to their silky tannins.
